Employer Advisor Services
We have two advisors on our team who provide confidential, one-on-one information, assistance and advice to employers on a variety of employment related matters.
Free of charge services for ALL employers operating in the province include:
- Assistance and advice on workers’ compensation issues related to WorkplaceNL legislation, policies & procedures.
- Assistance with claims management and ESRTW planning advice.
- Assistance for out of province-based employers with system navigation and compliance. (Our Advisors will liaison with case managers, and Adjudicators, simply fill out a Form 13).
- Strategic advice on implementing a Violence and Harassment policy and best practices on the execution of the Risk Assessment.
Researching and filing WorkplaceNL & WCIRB appeals:
- The launching, file review and writing of internal appeal correspondence.
- File review and internal appeal response correspondence for WCIRB appeals.
- Assessment appeals.
- Assistance and advice on occupational health & safety requirements.
- Review of employer OH&S programs and policies, assistance with PRIME, and advice for OH&S committees.
Board of Trade members can also receive confidential one-on-one assistance and advice on other employment related issues from employer advisors as a benefit of membership, including but not limited to:
- Labour Standards, Labour Relations, and Human Rights guidance.
- Best practices in human resources management.
- Assistance drafting job descriptions.
- Development of custom employment policies and handbooks.
- Discipline and termination strategic advice.
- Attendance management best practices.
- Responsibilities under federal and provincial privacy legislation in relation to employment.
- Employment Insurance benefits best practices.
